IC 1-2-11-1

The river commonly known as the Wabash River is adopted and designated as the official river of the state of Indiana and subject of the state song "On the Banks of the Wabash, Far Away" by Paul Dresser.

The Wabash River is a 503-mile long river in the Midwestern United States that flows southwest from north-west Ohio near Fort Recovery across northern Indiana to southern Illinois, where it forms the Illinois-Indiana border before draining into the Ohio River, of which it is the largest northern tributary. From the dam near Huntington, Indiana to its terminus at the Ohio River, the Wabash flows freely for 411 miles.
